Technical Workshop on the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) and Paris Agreement Article 6 (6.2 and 6.4) for India’s Green Hydrogen Sector

This closed-door technical workshop, hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), focuses on building clarity around international carbon market mechanisms—specifically the Japan–India Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) and Article 6.2 and 6.4 of the Paris Agreement.

As India’s green hydrogen sector scales, developers are increasingly exploring carbon market pathways to enhance project bankability and global competitiveness. The workshop will provide practical insights on project readiness, including MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification), carbon accounting, crediting frameworks, and alignment with domestic carbon market mechanisms.

It will also address key implementation challenges such as approvals, credit ownership, avoiding double counting, and financing considerations—helping stakeholders better navigate emerging carbon market opportunities.
